Our post team hopped into action with playful VFX work for Five Below’s Easter campaign, helping transform a bright, candy-colored concept into a fully realized, scroll-stopping world. This exciting collaboration came from the help of our good pal (and production guru) Emily Calvanese of Sun Rose Productions, who handled the production itself. From the very start, Format was deeply embedded in the production process — our Post Supervisor Andrew Kunkle and VFX wizard Daniel Haddaway were on set, collaborating with the creatives and crew to ensure every shot was framed and lit with the VFX in mind. Their on-set guidance helped capture the practical elements needed for seamless integration, from reflections and motion tracking to timing cues for animated product effects.

Once production wrapped, Andrew and Daniel took the lead in post, layering visual effects that amplified the energy, movement, and whimsy of the spot. From subtle enhancements to full-on visual gags that made products practically leap off the screen, the VFX elevated every frame without overshadowing the live-action performances. Their careful supervision ensured that each effect felt organic, maintaining the fast, light, and unmistakably fun aesthetic of Five Below.

The result is a polished, joyful Easter campaign that brings both products and personality to life. With dynamic VFX woven seamlessly throughout, the spot hits all the right notes for the holiday: colorful, energetic, and full of surprises - exactly the kind of experience Five Below fans expect.
