For Trane Technologies and agency ModOp, Format led full-scale production and VFX to bring the “Building Brilliance” campaign to life, turning mechanical systems into cinematic storytelling. From active rooftops at FMC Tower to a live construction site in Berwyn, PA, Format’s team, led by Nic Reader and Mike Gualtieri, captured authentic environments - technicians navigating ductwork, engineers reviewing glowing blueprints, and building owners adjusting smart interfaces — all while designing shots to seamlessly integrate with visual effects. The goal was clear: show that Trane doesn’t just operate buildings, it brings them to life.

At the heart of the campaign is the flowing red energy “halo,” a visual device representing intelligence, efficiency, and constant motion. This energy threads through every frame, from hands-on maintenance to building-wide systems, creating a dynamic heartbeat that connects people and infrastructure. To achieve this, Format’s post team collaborated closely with the ModOp team during pre-production, planning camera angles, lighting, and performance beats to match the VFX roadmap. This meticulous approach ensured that every shot, whether a sweeping wide shot of a skyscraper or a close-up of a sensor interface, was ready to support the transformative visual effects.
